Lee Brice is a longtime supporter of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The ‘I Don’t Dance’ singer lit up when asked to talk about what the Memphis-based medical campus means to him. He admits it means something different now that he has two little boys at home.

“You don’t really realize until you go,” Brice tells Taste of Country, “and then you go to the hospital and you see and meet not just the kids who are there, but their families who are actually joyful.”

They’re joyful because their children are getting world-class care -- for free. Brice participated in the Country Cares seminar most recently in 2012, but he’s played charity shows and guitar pulls for St. Jude since he started as a new artist in 2007.

“You need to go,” the ACM Awards winner says, “because then it changes your life.” For Brice, he appreciates having two healthy sons (Takoda and Ryker) even more every time he steps through the front doors at St. Jude. But should something happen to one of them, one senses the singer would breathe a little easier knowing a special place would welcome him and his family with open arms.

Today (March 6) and Friday, Taste of Country is pressing pause on coverage of all but the most pressing news stories in an effort to raise money for St. Jude. For 25 years, country radio, artists and record labels have helped raise more than $500 million, ensuring that no one ever pays a dime for treatment at St. Jude.

“No child should die in the dawn of life,” founder Danny Thomas once said. Help make that wish a reality by making a donation or becoming a Partner in Hope when you click the button below. Donations can be made by phone at 800-411-9898.
