1944 - Roberta Streeter--a.k.a. Bobbie Gentry--born in Chickasaw, Mississippi. The Academy of Country Music names her best new female in 1967, on the heels of her suspenseful recording "Ode To Billie Joe." Her song "Fancy" later becomes a hit for Reba McEntire.
