Lufkin Duo Arrested for Stealing Bicycle From Policeman’s Porch

According to a Lufkin Police report, Crystal Havard, 33, and Andrew Massingill, 22, were arrested Sunday night after Assistant Chief David Thomas witnessed Havard steal his son's bicycle off of his front porch.  

Thomas was watching TV with his wife when their flood lights came on and they witnessed Havard running away with the bicycle over her head. She placed it in the back of a truck waiting nearby and they drove off with Thomas following behind them in his unmarked police vehicle. Thomas activated his lights and made a felony traffic stop on the vehicle. He held them until other officers arrived. Inside the vehicle, officers found a baggy that contained 10.8 grams of marijuana.

Havard and Massingill are both charged with possession of marijuana and theft - Havard state jail felony level due to two previous convictions.
