Today on the Merrell in the Morning Show I had the pleasure of interviewing my good friend, D. Vincent Williams.

Many folks around the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area will know him as Dave Williams, Lufkin High School graduate plus band member of '5 on the floor' from the early 90's, but D. Vincent has been having some huge successes in Nashville over the past 15 years.

Williams has written over 1200 songs including quite a few that have seen the charts.  For instance, 'Hands of a Working Man' was taken to the top 5 by Ty Herndon back in '98, 'Just Got Started Loving You' was a chart topper for James Otto a couple of years ago, and 'I'm Movin' On' was not only a huge hit for Rascal Flatts, it also won Song of the Year honors.

D. Vincent is in town to be the featured performer at the Write Around Texas Melody Maker event tonight at Crown Colony Country Club.  This will be William's last performance as primarily a songwriter...that's because he will be launching a solo singing career as of this Fall.

Take a listen to a song he recorded a few years ago called 'Beer Buzz', then take a listen and look at the video...it features a song that D. Vincent performed this morning on KICKS 105.
