Lufkin PD Investigating Shooting at Grace Dunn Richardson Park

Lufkin Police are currently investigating an incident that occurred Tuesday morning at Grace Dunn Richardson Park, near South Loop 287.

According to the release, at 6:52 a.m. Lufkin Police received a report of shots fired at the park. Officers arrived on the scene to find a man had been shot in the leg and another man had a laceration to his head. A third man involved in the incident was taken to the station for questioning while both injured parties went to separate local hospitals. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The men involved in the incident were acquaintances and appeared to be involved in drug activity at the time the disturbance occurred.
