Lufkin PD, Trinity Co. Sheriffs Chasing Armed Burgler

Damarcus Jermaine Jenkins is in custody in Trinity County.

Law enforcement from Lufkin, Hudson, and Trinity County are involved this morning with an active situation involving an armed suspect.

According to a release from the Lufkin Police Department, Trinity County residents in the area of Moore Cemetery Road, near Centerville, should be on the lookout for Damarcus Jermaine Jenkins, 32, of Lufkin.

Jenkins is suspected of having led Lufkin officers on a pursuit down state Highway 94 west into Trinity and Houston counties after attempting to break into an apartment during a domestic dispute at Greenbriar Apartments.

He is armed and it is believed that he fired shots at officers during the pursuit. The chase reached speeds of 60-65 mph before he bailed out around Moore Cemetery Road in Trinity County.

Jenkins is described as a black male last seen wearing a white shirt and blue shorts.
