Wednesday morning, representatives with local law enforcement arrested three people following a drug bust.

According to a press release from the Lufkin Police Department, the bust took place at 128 W. Kerr St.  Frank Parker, 49, of Lufkin, Chris Wesley, 47, of Huntington, and Amanda McRae, 36, of Lufkin, were taken into custody on drug-related charges – Parker for possession of marijuana, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a stolen firearm; McRae for possession of marijuana and a Trinity County warrant; and Wesley for possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Their arrests came after the department’s Street Crimes Unit received several reports of drug activity at the home and launched an investigation, according to Sgt. Travis Strickland, who supervises the division.  The Special Response Team cleared the house and found the trio inside shortly after making entry. A search of the home uncovered several ounces of marijuana, prescription pain medication packaged in plastic baggies, baggies and syringes with methamphetamine residue and several firearms. One of the firearms was found to have been stolen in another jurisdiction, Strickland said.
“As long as people decide to poison our community by trafficking narcotics, the Lufkin Police Department will continue to investigate, arrest and assist in the prosecution of those individuals in order to make our city a safer place to live,” Strickland said.
Strickland reminded citizens not to forget about the availability of the Crime Stoppers program, where citizens can remain anonymous and may be paid a reward for information that leads to an arrest or grand jury indictment of a felony offender.
