The following release is taken from the Lufkin Police Department:

At 11:10p.m. on June 25, Lufkin Police responded to a robbery call at Case Ole’ Restaurant.  The manager reported that someone knocked on a back door.  Assuming it was an employee, the manager opened the door and a man pointed a handgun at him and entered the restaurant.  The suspect was described as an African American male, wearing all black, wielding a handgun with a suppressor on it, and also wearing a mask similar to a gas mask.

The suspect demanded the money and accompanied the manager to the office at gunpoint and took cash.  The suspect fled on foot.  When making the initial report, the manager thought he recognized the suspect as a former employee named Steven Jolley.  This was based on the suspect’s voice, build and bearing.

Moments later, responding officers found 18 year old Steven E. Jolley walking on Tulane not far from the restaurant.  He was wearing shorts with no shirt, and was carrying a backpack.  When a police officer attempted to stop Jolly, he fled on foot into the woods.  Jolly was arrested six minutes after the robbery was reported.   Inside the backpack he was carrying, Jolly was found to have a realistic looking BB pistol with a simulated suppressor, a bank bag marked with Casa Ole written on it and the money inside and black clothing inside that matched the description given by the victim.  The bag also included an paintball mask that looks similar to a gas mask.

Jolly was charged with Aggravated Robbery and booked into Angelina County Jail.
