Lufkin police made two arrests Thursday evening in connection to the apprehension of a fugitive.

According to a Lufkin Police report, Sydney Hill, 21, was arrested on a charge of hindering the apprehension of a fugitive after she lied to officers about her boyfriend, Joaquin Rivera, 31, being home when they came to arrest him on a warrant. The officers gave Hill multiple opportunities for her to tell them where he was hiding, but she did not. Eventually an officer yelled his name and Rivera responded from the bathroom where he had been trying to hide.

Hill and Rivera were both taken into custody.
