Lufkin Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a Tuesday morning burglary.  The following is taken from a press release from the Lufkin Police Department. 

On the morning of February 24, officers of the Lufkin Police Department (LPD) assisted the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office in searching for two suspects that were involved in a pursuit. At approximately 9:30am, the Lufkin Police Department was informed that one of the suspects had been involved in a burglary of a residence. Detectives of the LPD began investigating the burglary and interviewed the victims.

It was determined that the suspect had been waiting on the porch of the residence located in the 500 block of Card Dr. when one of the victims went outside to check the weather. Around 5:30am, the suspect used the opportunity to push his way into the residence. He kept the victim and her adult daughter within his sight. The victims were not harmed and the suspect did not display any weapons.The victims were finally able to convince the suspect to allow them to take him to a bank and then to a local motel.
The victims were scared and therefore did not notify law enforcement until hours later. By this time the suspect had left the motel. Lufkin PD investigators were able to identify the suspect with help from the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

The suspect has been identified as William Francis (32). Francis is described as a white male being approximately 6’2” with a medium build and shaved head. He has a tattoo on his right jawline of the state of California and a Raiders emblem on his neck. Investigators were able to obtain a warrant for the arrest of William Francis for the offense of Burglary of a Habitation.
