Over the past few months, I had seen some references to 'Google Glass' on various websites and social media pages.  The gist of the stories I heard was that this was going to be the next big thing in the world of technology.  Still, I had no idea what it looked like, nor its practical usage.

Well, thanks to some students from Lufkin Middle School and Director of Technology Brad Stewart, I now have a better grasp of what all the hype is about.

Picture this:  Your computer monitor is now on the lenses of the glasses that you wear.  The processor is near the front hinge of those glasses.  Now speak a command and all that you want to see, capture, or video is displayed right in front of your eyes.  That's Google Glass...in layman's terms.

The product is still under research and development and Lufkin Middle School was chosen to get Google Glass and give it a test run. It still could be a year or two before this product is placed on the general market, but the applications are endless, especially as an in-class learning aid.

Check out the video below as Danny Merrell from the Merrell in the Morning Show as well as Lufkin Middle School students get their first experience with Google Glass. I'm ready to be in the next Terminator movie.
