The number of East Texans watching the Houston Texans football games this year will probably be at an all time high.  J.J. Watt is definitely a big draw, but J.H. will definitely bring in a lot of Lufkin area viewers.

Lufkin High School alum Julie Hemphill is a proud member of the Houston Texans Cheerleaders.  After a rigorous and intense try out process, out of over 1,000 contestants Hemphill is only one of 35 who made the final cut.

She began dancing at the age of two and has never stopped.  She was in the Lufkin Panther Pride (she's in town to help with the Panther Pride Camp and Training), a four year member of the Aggie Dance Team at Texas A&M, and now a Houston Texans Cheerleader.

The cheerleaders will perform at every home Texans game, plus, Super Bowl 51 will be held at NRG Stadium in Houston this season.  That means that Julie and the Houston Texans Cheerleaders will be performing in some capacity at that game.  In addition to the football games, Hemphill and her squad will be making numerous other appearances promoting the football team as well as charitable groups and causes.

Take a listen to Julie's interview with the Merrell in the Morning Show.
