Every single day, Luke Bryan’s wife Caroline watches her kids walk out the door and into the real world. And every single day, she sends them off with some nuggets of advice.

“There are a couple of things I tell my kids every day,” Caroline says on a recent podcast interview. “I tell them to always go and make a person smile every day. Be nice, and go make a person smile.”

Another piece of advice she gives them hits particularly home for the Bryan family, as they have dealt with their share of tragedies throughout the years.

“Some of the best advice I ever got was that it's not our job to understand why God does what He does,” she says. “It's our job to accept it and make the best out of it. That’s just what you have to do.”

Fans will recall that Luke and Caroline have seen their share of pain, including the deaths of their brother-in-law and their niece in recent years.

“Someday we will understand everything, but He’s not going to let us understand everything right now in this life,” says Caroline, who worked with Luke to create Brett’s Barn in remembrance of their niece who died back in 2017.

“So just take what He gives you, as hard as it is. And sometimes it's great, and sometimes it sucks so bad—but you gotta take it and make the best out of it.”

She then takes a deep breath: “I’m not very deep, but that’s about as deep as I get,” she confirms.
