Early Tuesday morning (02-28-2017), the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office made a seizure of 15 grams of methamphetamine from a residence on County Road 246 (near Martinsville). The Sheriff's Office had an active investigation on suspects that lived at the residence for the distribution of methamphetamine.

Sheriff's deputies set up surveillance on the residence and observed suspicious activity. Deputies made contact with a suspect who lived at the residence, that suspect was later arrested.

He is identified as Andrew Herring, 38, from Nacogdoches. Deputies obtained consent to search a vehicle that was outside the residence and located over 12 grams of methamphetamine. Deputies also found a needle that was loaded with methamphetamine that contained over 3 grams.

Deputies obtained consent to search the residence and located drug paraphernalia inside the bedroom belonging to Herring. Several empty needles, digital scales and small plastic baggies were located and confiscated.

Herring was arrested for Possession of a controlled substance a 2nd felony and booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
