$1.1 million has been earmarked for renovations at Nacogdoches Dragon stadium which includes a track resurfacing later in the Spring.  However, the newly installed turf is ready to go and will see its first official action this evening.

At 5:30, the Dragon JV soccer team is scheduled to play Tyler Lee, however, at 5 there will be a special ceremony.  This event will honor Athletic Director Farshid Niroumand for his 32 years of coaching, likewise, new NHS soccer coach Colten McCown will be officially welcomed.  The community is encouraged to attend.

The evening marks the first home soccer game without Coach Niroumand leading the team from the sidelines. At the end of the 2014 season, Coach Niroumand decided to retire from the coaching portion of his job and remain solely as the athletic director for Nacogdoches ISD. Niroumand will toss out the first soccer ball onto the turf this evening.
