‘The Voice': Country Hopefuls Natalie Stovall, Ryan Scripps Go to Team Blake

The Voice Season 13 Blind Auditions night five aired Monday night (Oct. 9) with coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus and new girl on the block Jennifer Hudson — and two more country-music hopefuls made it handily on to Shelton’s team. Natalie Stovall and Ryan Scripps both won over Shelton’s heart with their powerful performances, presented in montage form.

If this is the first you’ve heard of Stovall, rest assured that she actually has been at this music game for a while, along with her longtime band the Drive. Stovall, a Tennessee native, began playing the fiddle at an early age, eventually going professional at just 10 years old. She made her Opry debut at 12, and went on to rack up further impressive notches on her resume, such as an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

She also maintains an active fanbase, which was delighted to hear she was testing her mettle on the 13th season of The Voice. Needless to say, it’s not terribly surprising the 35-year-old’s rendition of “If It Hadn’t Been for Love” by the SteelDrivers gave her the ticket to make it it onto Team Blake.

Scripps, a 24-year-old crossfit trainer, tackled Sam Hunt‘s smash hit “Body Like a Back Road,” prompting Shelton to state, “This is a no-brainer for me. It’s going to be a lot of fun to work with you, dude, I can’t wait.”

Season 13 of The Voice will air on Monday and Tuesday nights at 8PM ET on NBC.
