Popular Lufkin Pediatrician Opens New Clinic, Here’s a Sneak Peek

East Texas Premier Pediatrics will be opening to patients on Wednesday, June 14. The name and location may be new to you, but you are probably very familiar with the pediatrician who is the owner of this practice.

Dr. Cristina Graves is a board-certified pediatrician with over 17 years of experience working with children of all ages across the Deep East Texas area.

Her passion for pediatrics and commitment to providing high-quality care make her a valuable asset to growing families. She believes in building strong relationships with her patients and their families and is dedicated to providing personalized care that meets each child’s unique needs.

Q&A with Dr. Cristina Graves

I had the chance to visit Dr. Graves and find out more about why she decided to open East Texas Premier Pediatrics in Lufkin and find out more about some of the advantages of taking your children to see her.

Q: After 17 years of serving the needs of children as a pediatrician, why did you decide to open your own practice?

A: In January, I decided that I wanted to open my own practice, and the community support has been overwhelming. I wanted my clinic to focus on a smaller environment, so that when you walk through the door my staff and I personally know your child and your family. I've been getting to know my patients and their families for the past 17 years, and I don't see myself being even halfway through my career here in Lufkin. I love what I do and I just can't see myself retiring, even in the distant future.

Q: One of the great advantages that East Texas Premier Pediatrics offers is your online patient portal. Can you expand on that?

A: Sure! As an example, soon, schools will be asking for your kids' shot records. Those requests will probably all lump at the same time. With our patient portal, you can just log in through our secure system and access and print out the records and files that you need. You no longer need to call, leave a message, wait for a callback, and get frustrated through that drawn-out process. 

You will also have access to me even if I'm on vacation through our Telemed feature. With the electronic records, my nurse can call me and set up a Telemed meeting, if necessary, and find a solution to get your child on the way to feeling better. 

Q: It looks like you've had some fun decorating the lobby and examination rooms.

A: Yes! We want the kids to feel as comfortable as possible and having a friendly and fun decor is part of that. We have a room decorated with a Disney theme, dinosaur theme, cowboy theme, and a silly animal theme. We have games and books in the lobby along with child-sized chairs and tables.
