New Netflix Instant Releases: January 2016

It's a new year and a new month, which means new titles heading to Netflix Instant. January brings Netflix Original content like Degrassi: The Next Class, as well as seasons of your favorite shows like Parks and Rec and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and plenty of new films for you to discover or re-discover. January 1

2 Fast 2 Furious (2003): Starring Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson and Cole Hauser. Former cop Brian O'Conner is called upon to bust a dangerous criminal and he recruits the help of a former Miami street racer who has a chance to redeem himself.

Constantine (2005): Starring Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz and Tilda Swinton. Constantine tells the story of irreverent supernatural detective John Constantine, who has literally been to hell and back.

How to Change the World (2015): In 1971, a group of friends sail into a nuclear test zone, and their protest captures the world's imagination. Using never before seen archive that brings their extraordinary world to life, How To Change The World is the story of the pioneers who founded Greenpeace and defined the modern green movement.

Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006): Starring Ray Romano, John Leguizamo and Denis Leary. Manny, Sid, and Diego discover that the ice age is coming to an end, and join everybody for a journey to higher ground. On the trip, they discover that Manny, in fact, is not the last of the woolly mammoths.

Journey to Le Mans (2014): This documentary takes you behind the scenes of the most prestigious endurance motorsport event in the world

The Rundown (2003): Starring Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott and Christopher Walken. A tough aspiring chef is hired to bring home a mobster's son from the Amazon but becomes involved in the fight against an oppressive town operator and the search for a legendary treasure.

Smokin’ Aces 2: The Assassin’s Ball (2010): Starring Tom Berenger, Tommy Flanagan and Ernie Hudson. Walter Weed is an unassuming desk jockey at the FBI when the Bureau uncovers a plot to assassinate him. A team of degenerate, psychotic assassins dispatched by mystery man Hal Leuco to win a huge bounty includes a resourceful beauty who has a unique method of killing her prey, a power-tool wielding psychopath and a deadly master of disguise.

We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011): Starring Tilda Swinton, John C. Reilly and Ezra Miller. Kevin's mother struggles to love her strange child, despite the increasingly vicious things he says and does as he grows up. But Kevin is just getting started, and his final act will be beyond anything anyone imagined.

January 4

Training Day (2001): Starring Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke and Scott Glenn. On his first day on the job as a Los Angeles narcotics officer, a rookie cop goes on a 24-hour training course with a rogue detective who isn't what he appears.

January 5

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 10 (2015): Four young friends with big egos and slightly arrogant attitudes are the proprietors of an Irish bar in Philadelphia.

New Girl Season 4 (2015): After a bad break-up, Jess, an offbeat young woman, moves into an apartment loft with three single men. Although they find her behavior very unusual, the men support her — most of the time.

January 8

Adult World (2013): Starring Emma Roberts, John Cusack and Evan Peters. Amy, a naive college graduate who believes she's destined to be a great poet, begrudgingly accepts a job at a sex shop while she pursues a mentorship with reclusive writer Rat Billings.

January 12

The Ladykillers (2004): Starring Tom Hanks, Marlon Wayans and Irma P. Hall. An eccentric, if not charming Southern professor and his crew pose as a classical ensemble in order to rob a casino, all under the nose of his unsuspecting but sharp old landlady.

January 13

Parks and Recreation Season 7 (2015): Starring Amy Poehler, Adam Scott and Nick Offerman. The absurd antics of an Indiana town's public officials as they pursue sundry projects to make their city a better place.

January 15

Degrassi: The New Class Season 1 (2016): The classic Canadian teen series comes to Netflix.

The Last Five Years (2014): Starring Anna Kendrick, Jeremy Jordan and Tamara Mintz. A struggling actress and her novelist lover each illustrate the struggle and deconstruction of their love affair.

Moonwalkers (2015): Starring Ron Perlman, Rupert Grint and Robert Sheehan. After failing to locate the legendary Stanley Kubrick, an unstable CIA agent (Ron Perlman) must instead team up with a seedy rock band manager (Rupert Grint) to develop the biggest con of all time-staging the moon landing.

Occupied Season 1 (2015): Starring Karianne Lund, Eldar Skar and Ane Dahl Torp. In the near future, Norway is occupied by Russia on behalf of the European Union, due to the fact that the newly elected environmental friendly Norwegian government has stopped the all important oil- and gas-production in the North Sea.

The Overnight (2015): Starring Adam Scott, Taylor Schilling and Jason Schwartzman. Alex, Emily, and their son, RJ, are new to Los Angeles. A chance meeting at the park introduces them to the mysterious Kurt, Charlotte, and Max. A family "playdate" becomes increasingly interesting as the night goes on.

January 16

Hyde Park on Hudson (2012): Starring Bill Murray, Laura Linney and Olivia Williams. The story of the love affair between FDR and his distant cousin Margaret "Daisy" Suckley, centered around the weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of the United Kingdom visited upstate New York.

January 17

Z Nation Season 2 (2015): Starring Kellita Smith, Keith Allan and Russell Hodgkinson. Three years after the zombie virus has gutted the country, a team of everyday heroes must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood.

January 19

Curve (2015): Starring Julianne Hough, Teddy Sears and Penelope Mitchell. A young woman becomes trapped in her car after a hitchhiker causes her to have an automobile accident.

January 23

Chelsea Does (2016): Comedienne and writer Chelsea Handler discusses the topics of marriage, racism, Silicon Valley, and drugs. Filmed in four parts.

January 25

From Dusk Till Dawn Season 2 (2015): Starring D.J. Cotrona, Zane Holtz and Jesse Garcia. A Texas Ranger is in hot pursuit of the infamous Gecko brothers and their hostages. They all end up trapped in a desert bar secretly run by vampires and discover a vampire conspiracy.

January 28

Frozen Planet (2011): Focuses on life and the environment in both the Arctic and Antarctic.

January 31

Words and Pictures (2013): Starring Clive Owen, Juliette Binoche and Bruce Davison. An art instructor and an English teacher form a rivalry that ends up with a competition at their school in which students decide whether words or pictures are more important.
