I'm sure you're familiar with Outback Steakhouse...delicious steaks, shrimp, bloomin' onions, and many other succulent dishes inspired from Down Under.  What about Friedreich's Ataxia?  Are you familiar with this?  Outback Steakhouse would like to change that.  Tonight (Monday) from 4 p.m. until close, Outback Steakhouse on Highway 59 South in Lufkin will join their other stores across the country in supporting 'FARA' (Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance). 100% of all tips collected will go to support FARA.

Friedreich's Ataxia is is a debilitating, life-shortening, degenerative neuro-muscular disorder. About one in 50,000 people in the United States have Friedreich's ataxia.  FARA is supporting research that will improve the quality and length of life for those diagnosed with Friedreich's ataxia and will lead to treatments that eliminate its symptoms.  There are currently no treatments for FA. Patients are monitored for symptom management. FARA is funding research to find a cure.

You may not know anyone who has this disorder, but the fact remains that thousands do suffer from it, and anytime we can help our neighbors, we should.  Plus, anytime is a good time for a great meal from Outback Steakhouse.
