Around midnight last night strong storms pushed across the Pineywoods.  Although none of the storms were considered to be severe by the National Weather Service, winds in excess of 45 mph were rather common, which has led to numerous power outages.  The biggest area of folks without power seems to be from Highway 69 North of Lufkin to the Clawson area.  Others include but are not limited to areas around Martinsville, Highway 103 East and West of Lufkin, near Woden, Moffett, and Douglass.

In fact, Douglass ISD will be starting classes at 10 this morning.  Buses will also be running two hours late.  At this time (6:40am), this is the only school delay that we have received.
