Just disregard the historic cold and snowfall across the country.  Don't pay attention to the snow that's in the East Texas forecast for Thursday night and Friday.  When Phil talks, well, he doesn't really talk, but people listen to his prediction, kind of.

So, what does Phil have to say about a quick end to Winter, and for that matter, what about other creatures other than glorified woodchucks? 

According to tradition, if Punxsutawney Phil climbs out of his burrow on a cloudy day and is unable to see his shadow, it's a sign that spring is on its way. If Feb. 2 is a sunny day and the groundhog can see his shadow, that indicates there will be another six weeks of winter.
