For the most part today, Deep East Texas has dodged the large amounts of sleet and freezing rain that areas just to our North have been seeing.

That may be changing this evening.

The Weather Prediction Center at the National Weather Service puts the best chance of freezing drizzle or rain in an area that includes Lufkin, Diboll, Jasper, Corrigan, and Zavalla.  The graph basically estimates that between 6pm tonight and 6pm Tuesday, this area stands the best chance to receive at least .01 of freezing precipitation, although the biggest threat would be up until midnight tonight.

Forecasters do not anticipate that any more than up to .10 of precipitation will fall anywhere in the Deep East Texas area, but that still would be enough to cause hazardous conditions, especially on bridges or overpasses.

A Winter Weather Advisory continues until Midnight tonight for Angelina and Nacogdoches counties.
