Over the past several months, the phrase 'In God We Trust' has been placed on patrol vehicles in a few counties and cities across America.

Recently, some of the deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Department asked Sheriff Greg Sanches if that could take place with their squad cars.  The Sheriff decided to put that question before the citizens of the county by placing a post on his Facebook Page along with an accompanying video.  The response was overwhelmingly in favor of putting the phrase on the vehicles.

In fact, Sheriff Sanches has received messages from many citizens who would be happy to personally offset some of the cost for those stickers.  However, the wonderful folks at Real Graphics in Lufkin said that they were only too happy to provide the service for free. If anyone wants to stop by and donate to them, the Sheriff indicated that would be much appreciated.

Even though Real Graphics is donating their services to produce the 'In God We Trust' stickers for the sheriff's department, proper procedure must be followed and that procedure dictates that the Angelina County Commissioner's Court must approve that donation.  At 10 A.M. this Tuesday (12/8), approval for this donation will be presented to the Court which is located within the building of the Tax Assessor Collector (Sub-Courthouse Annex) at 606 E. Lufkin Avenue, next door to the downtown Post Office.

Greg Sanches has asked the public to turn out in numbers to show their support.  Even though the court is ultimately considering just the donation, what a wonderful testimony this would be for a community to give their support for a phrase that shows our belief in our God whom we must honor for our many blessings and protection of our law enforcement.

Greg Sanches and the Angelina County Sheriff's Office has indicated that the room where they hold Commissioner's Court is small, but whether you are able to get in the room, hallway, or outside the sub-courthouse, your support would be appreciated. Sheriff Sanches goes on to say that he would like for all supporters to stick around following the conclusion of the Court's decision so that he can personally thank every individual after the meeting.
