Rare Willie Nelson Video, More Chances To Win Tickets

Maybe you won't come away with the same interpretation as me, but after watching this vintage video of Willie Nelson, I think I can understand why he became disillusioned with Nashville and moved back home to Texas.  This video was from 1962, Willie had already written a number of songs that would easily fit into anyone's list of top 100 songs of all time, some of which he performs in this video.

Nelson spent the 1960's trying to catch on as a successful singer as well, but he rarely had songs touch the top 20 in the charts.  Most of the issue was that the record industry of Nashville just didn't know how to market the sound and style of Willie.  Only when he allowed himself to be himself, inside and out, did Nelson get the success and accolades he deserved.

The way Nelson sounds of this video is pure and smooth and wonderful.  But, at times he looks like he wishes he were somewhere else, wearing something different, and not being the persona that Music City had made him to be.
