When I saw this video from ABC News, my first thought was how could this family find the strength, the courage, the words to talk about the violent death of their 6-year-old daughter, especially just a few days removed from Friday's events?

Wouldn't they be better served to just grieve in private for now?

Then, as I put myself in their place, I began to understand.  I have an 8 year old girl, and if she were ever taken away from me in such a terrible way, obviously I would be grief-stricken, but I would also want the world to know what a wonderful and beautiful young lady she was.

I believe the Rekos family feel it is their obligation to let people know just how special their daughter, Jessica, was and is.  I also believe this acts as a therapy with the grieving process as well.

This video will bring tears, but it is also our moral duty to put faces to this disaster, so that our prayers can be even more sincere and heartfelt.
