Motorists could experience delays on US 59 near Livingston this week as crews work to mill and inlay road surfaces near Business 59 ramps and bridge approaches.

Work is expected to begin Tuesday at Exit 436A as bridge approaches are rehabilitated. Work will include milling bridge approaches and inlaying with hot mix asphalt. The work should be completed within two days, weather permitting.

Motorists are urged to reduce speed in the area and prepare for possible delays. Be alert to workers and moving equipment near the lanes of traffic. This is an active TxDOT work zone. Texas law states that motorists must vacate the lane closest to the road work, if another lane is available for traveling in the same direction, or reduce speed to 20 mph below the posted speed limit when another lane is not available. Move over and slow down.
