46 years ago, when the folks from Lufkin Industries decided to build Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer out of a working oil pumping unit and Santa's Sleigh from a Lufkin Trailer, I wonder if they knew that they were setting in motion a holiday tradition that has gained world wide attention.

Updated for 2013!

This Saturday, November 23, 2013 beginning at 5 in the Lufkin Mall parking lot, there will be music, free antlers for the kids (while they last), a special guest from the North Pole, and yes, around 5:30, Rudolph will be set into motion.

This year, a robot designed by the Lufkin High School's robotics team will get the honor and pushing the button that will get Rudolph going.  The event is free to the public.
