Night number one of the Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo and Steer Show gets underway tonight at the Nacogdoches Expo and Civic Center.  Many of the bulls and broncs, as well as the cowboys and cowgirls that were recently at the National Finals Rodeo in Vegas will be on hand for this three night event.

Thursday night is sponsored by Impact Cowboy Church and all that's being asked for price of admission is a $2 donation per person.  Of course, if you could afford to give more that would be wonderful, especially when you take into consideration that the donations benefit Azleway Children's Services in Nacogdoches.

I had a chance to visit with Liana Berry of Azleway on Wednesday at the Alive after Five Chamber event and she shared some wonderful information about the services they offer.  I would encourage you to visit their website for more details or check out their Facebook Page.  They will also be hosting their 2nd Annual Dancing with the Pineywoods Stars in April.

Take a listen to the morning show interview with Liana Berry here.

The gates will open tonight and each night of the rodeo at 6:45.  The mutton bustin' gets underway at 7, and then the rodeo starts at 7:30.  Tickets for Friday and Saturday are available at the Boot Barn in Nacogdoches or at the Nacogdoches Expo Box Office.
