Following a heart-breaking loss on the road to Northwestern State Saturday, the SFA Lumberjacks turned to their strong suit to get back to their winning ways.  The Jacks boast the nation's number one scoring defense and the McNeese State Cowboys were smothered in Southland Conference basketball action Wednesday night.  SFA held the Cowboys to just 9 first half points and early through the 2nd half, the Lumberjacks had extended their lead to 32-9, however, an 18-4 run by McNeese put them down by just 9 points with still around 10 minutes to play.  However, that's as close as they would get as SFA won the game 59-39.

Taylor Smith had 21 points, 18 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots, in fact, with those blocks he is now SFA's all time leader in blocked shots.

SFA is now 17-2 overall and remains tied for first in Southland play with a record of 8-1.  The Jacks will travel to Beaumont on Saturday to take on Lamar.
