If you live in and around the South end of Lake Sam Rayburn, smoke looks to be in your forecast today.  A prescribed burn is scheduled today southwest of Zavalla.

The burn will be located in the Flat Bottom Road area and will be 83 acres in size. The burn is split into 3 smaller blocks. According to officials with the Angelina/Sabine National Forests, the burn will take place from around 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Because of the predicted winds smoke from the burn will be visible for the Highway 147 bridge over Sam Rayburn Reservoir and along FM 2743.  Motorists are advised to slow down in areas where workers are present as well as in areas where smoke crosses the roadway.
