Looks like those prayers for rain will be answered Friday.  Forecasters are anticipating numerous downpours across our area Friday and Friday night.

In fact, according to most computer models, the Pineywoods should see widespread amounts from 1-3 inches of rain with some areas receiving as much as 5 inches.  There may be a few isolated areas of severe weather, but heavy rain and strong winds will be the biggest threat.  The heavy rain should taper off by midday Saturday.

We'll also have to keep our eyes on the Gulf of Mexico as a tropical system could affect rainfall chances in the area next week.
