The upcoming Memorial Day Weekend could be a bit on the soggy side as an increasingly unstable weather pattern could dump heavy rain over portions of Deep East Texas.

One to four inches of rain is expected to fall from Thursday through Sunday morning.  Severe storms with gusty winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out as well.  It looks like the heaviest rainfall amounts and the biggest concentration of strong storms will occur in a swath from Bryan/College Station to Texarkana and then into Arkansas.

There is good news for a portion of the holiday weekend.  The rain chances will dwindle down to a 20-30% chance on Sunday and Monday.  The best chances of rain those days will occur during the afternoon and evening.
