Southeast Texas Salutatorian Missing in Honduras UPDATED

Aaron Rose, the salutatorian of the 2015 class at Little Cypress Mauriceville, has been found safe after going missing during a family trip to Honduras.

According to a report, Rose told his parents that he was going to take a kayak to go watch the sunset. He never returned. Honduras is a Central American country located between Belize and Nicaragua.

Search and rescue crews were dispatched to the area but had to call off the search late Wednesday night due to high winds and dangerous conditions. However, Thursday morning, officials spotted the boy. He was found some 18 miles from where he had been reported missing.

Rose is enrolled at Texas A&M University.
