Workers with the Texas Department of Transportation will be putting up new signs on the West Loop (224) in Nacogdoches, increasing the speed limit from 55 to 65mph.

Officials with TXDoT are making the change to increase safety and traffic flow as a result of recent studies.  The increase in speed limit will take place from the intersection of the Loop in Highway 59 South and be in effect until the intersection with FM 343, near Old Tyler Road, a total of 5.6 miles.

Even though the changes are being made this week, they are not officially in effect until the traffic signs are erected.
