The 64th annual Angelina County Fair gets underway today at the George H Henderson Jr Expo Center in Lufkin. There are a few changes this year, beginning first with the name, we've transitioned to the 'county fair' instead of the 'youth fair', although, calling it the youth fair is still fine.

From baking cakes to showing goats, from arts and crafts to photography, and much more, kids from various 4-H, FFA, and FCCLA clubs are bringing their best to the Expo Center.

It was a pleasure again this morning to have some more of the outstanding youth who are participating in the 62nd annual Angelina County Youth Fair.

Today, we had yesterday's winners in several shows such as market hog, market goat, beef heifer, and steer.

There's more events going on today, but make sure you're on hand for the awards ceremony at 5 which will be followed by the auction.

The Angelina County Youth Fair is getting into full swing at the George H Henderson Expo Center in Lufkin.

Tuesday saw students competing in cakes, desserts, and cheesecakes, as well as market and breeding rabbits. A few of yesterday's winners stopped by the KICKS 105 studios this morning for a Merrell in the Morning interview (some of the kids event brought samples of their award winning food!!)

Hundreds upon hundreds of kids from across the Angelina County area will be heading to the George H Henderson Jr Expo Center this week to show off their animals, photography, cooking, and much more as the 62nd annual Youth Fair gets underway.

Students have been working hard for many months in the hopes of doing well and perhaps getting some scholarship money in the process. Of course, nothing can get beat the experience and memories generated by the annual event.
