Will we be seeing more pictures like this Tuesday? Winter weather appears to be a certainty across the Pineywoods as a strong Arctic blast is moving across East Texas today bringing strong winds and colder temperatures.  Then, the precipitation will start early Tuesday morning.

The last time the 'Polar Vortex' moved through East Texas we got the extreme cold, but thankfully no precipitation.  Looks like we're not going to get quite so lucky this time, especially for areas south of Lufkin and Nacogdoches.

Well, not necessarily on Christmas Eve or Day, but this final weekend before the 25th could prove stormy, and possibly destructive. A cool front is coming and Saturday afternoon may get interesting, to say the least.

We're a week away from Thanksgiving, and the good news is that the extended forecast is calling for a sunny, cool turkey day.  However, we will have a cold push of air between now and then, plus the chance of up to 3 inches of rain falling in the region over the week.

An Arctic cold front should be blasting through the Pineywoods around mid-day today bringing with it frigid temperatures and gusty winds.  In fact, a freeze warning is effect for most of the area tonight and a lake wind advisory is posted throughout the day.

Usually, when someone mentions record temperatures in the Summer in East Texas, you think of oppressive heat with highs in the triple digits along with thick humidity.  Over this past weekend, a number of East Texas cities broke records for their low, high temperatures.

Severe weather is in the forecast for Deep East Texas this evening and overnight as a trough of low pressure is making its way eastward.  In fact, the National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 10pm (Tuesday) for parts of the Pineywoods.

A cold front should be pushing through the Pineywoods on Wednesday bringing with it the possibility of severe storms and heavy rains before ushering in some cooler weather for the last part of the week.

Monday, a number of severe and strong storms rolled through the East Texas area.  Get ready for round two.

We must be getting close to Spring because it seems that every time we have a chance of rain, a chance of severe weather goes right along with it.  This week, the Pineywoods could be seeing two rounds of bad weather.

Parts of the Pineywoods could be in for some wintry precipitation tonight, however, even if the sleet does fall, we shouldn't experience any accumulation or traveling issues.

A strong cold front will be moving across the Pineywoods later tonight bringing with it the chance of thunderstorms, some possibly severe.
