Gambling in Texas has been a big topic for several years now. After a failed vote in Austin last year, a Las Vegas group is continuing their push to legalize it.
It would have to jump through some hoops but a Beaumont senator wants certain counties to have legal gambling with proceeds going toward hurricane relief for the state.
If things go to plan, a new casino will be open in less than two weeks in Dallardsville, near Livingston. Naskila Entertainment indicates the tribal gaming site on the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation should be open by May 1st.
