Bids Awarded for Area Road Construction Projects

Over the next several weeks and months, the road construction on Highway 59 at Loop 287 and Highway 59 at FM 2021 will be coming to an end.  But, keeping the roadways around East Texas up to standard is a constant process and the Texas Transportation Commission last week awarded July projects for districts across the state with the Lufkin District receiving approval for four totaling $17.3 million.

Lufkin Police are investigating at least a half dozen reports of vandalized vehicles that occurred Thursday morning in areas near Denman Avenue, causing at least an estimated $5,000 in damage.
