The 30th annual Texas State Forest Festival kicked off with quite a bang as dance teams from Angelina, Shelby, and Sabine counties competed in the 11th edition of the Pom Squad/Dance Team Championships.

Judging at the Angelina County Fair wrapped up Friday with competitions being held in arts and crafts, heifer, market hog, and steer shows. Once again, several of the award winning students paid a visit to the Merrell in the Morning Show.
Numerous live bands, BBQ cook-off, car show, and lots of food and fun...it all adds up to the inaugural Summerfest Texas this Friday and Saturday at the George H Henderson Jr Expo Center in Lufkin.
Gates open at 5pm on Friday with live entertainment including The Buffalo Nickel Band, The Lords of Denman, and Whiskey Myers.
The KICKS 105 Bull Bash officially gets underway this Saturday at 8 with championship bull riding and then Joe Nichols in concert, but get to the Expo Center in Lufkin early because we'll have a tailgate party going on.
