Women's Elmo panties, Beanie Babies, stuffed animals, and cheap costume jewelry, that's just a few of the things that these two Louisiana women are charged with shoplifting from stores inside Lufkin Mall.

The names of those involved in Tuesday morning's two vehicle accident have been released.  The following is from the official Lufkin Police Department's press release.

It's been quite an interesting past 24 hours for the Lufkin Police Department. Let's start with two men arrested for assault/family violence.

Why did the man cross the busy Lufkin loop while waving a towel? Apparently, he just wanted his exercise.

A mother with five children in her car, believed to be intoxicated on the drug - PCP - was arrested in the lobby of the DPS office.  Drugs were also found in the possession of Laricia Antionette Young.

Dumb =  Committing a crime. Dumber = Inadvertently dialing someone while you are committing the crime. Dumbest = That someone you dialed is the 9-1-1 dispatch.

This morning, officials with the Lufkin Police Department released details concerning yesterday's discovery of a man found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The man's name was also made public for the first time.

We received word just a few minutes ago that the northbound lanes of Loop 287 at Denman in Lufkin are shut down due to an 18 wheeler accident. That section of the loop will be closed until at least 2pm today. The official press release from the Lufkin Police Department follows:
