Lack of rainfall over the past month or so has driven several East Texas counties to issue burn bans

Everyone, stop doing the rain dance, we've had enough rain. Enough to tip the scales a few times. So much rain that the numbers are almost shocking.

Heavy rain across Texas and Louisiana is creating major issues in travel.  Interstate 20 between Minden and Shreveport has been a nightmare for motorists thanks to major flooding around the Dorcheat Bayou area.  Numerous water rescues have been taking place there.

It's been a while since our last widespread soaking across Deep East Texas, but that looks to change in the next 48 hours.

A big rain event is coming to a large swath of Texas beginning today (Thursday) and continuing through Monday.  A trough of low pressure will usher in a cool front which will act to squeeze a lot of much-needed rain across the Lone Star State.
