Night number one of the Texas State Forest Festival didn't disappoint as teams from Angelina, Polk, and Shelby Counties competed in the annual KICKS 105 Pom Squad/Dance Team Championships sponsored by Academy of Gymnastics and Dance.

Henderson Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin.

The event runs through Sunday and will include great favorites like carnival rides, lumberjack competition, concerts, hushpuppy cooking championships, and, of course, tonight's kick off of the KICKS 105 Pom Squad/Dance Team championships.
