Pop quiz -- How many years has the 'back to school' tax-free weekend been going on in the state of Texas?  This will mark the 15th year of the savings event which will take place this Friday through Sunday (9th-11th) at state retailers.  Texas Comptroller Susan Coombs expects shoppers across the Lone Star State to save upwards of $80 million in state and local sales taxes during the sales tax holiday.

Most clothes, footwear, and school supplies are covered during the tax-free weekend, as long as each item is under $100.
