Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have confirmed their breakup, also giving a little insight on what happened. Or, more specifically, what didn’t happen. The 26-year-old singer and 32-year-old DJ reportedly split earlier this week.

Rumors circulated that Harris felt intimidated by Swift’s success, while one outlet flatly said the romance had just cooled. It’s all untrue, if you believe Harris.

Swift promptly retweeted him on Thursday afternoon (June 2). Just one day earlier, People learned of the breakup, reporting that sources told them there was no drama or cheating — things just didn’t work out.

The power pair began dating 15 months ago and recently began appearing together publicly and talking about one another. “I’m just taking things as they come,” Swift told Vogue in April. “I’m in a magical relationship right now. And of course I want it to be ours, and low-key … this is the one thing that’s been mine about my personal life.”

Musically, the singer doesn’t have much planned beyond a single show in October in Austin. Her last album was her first pop album after four country albums. 1989 won a Grammy for Album of the Year in February. She's remained loyal to Nashville since going pop and has turned up at country shows from time to time. Last October she performed "Little Red Wagon" with Miranda Lambert in Greensboro, N.C.
