Taylor Swift Just Uploaded a Cryptic Snake (?!) Video, and Fans Don’t Know What to Think

A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) on

Taylor Swift is up to something, but what?! Expert Swifties were quick to get to work, attempting to unmask clues that might lead to the name of … a new single, perhaps?

Swift went black on social media on Friday (Aug. 18), deleting all of her posts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. But fans claim that before the blackout, two dates remained: Sept. 27 and Dec. 6.

“September 27 is a single date and December 6 is the album? Those are the ‘last posted’ dates on Facebook and Twitter,” the fan hypothesizes. Another Swiftie on Reddit looked into the coding on Swift’s official website, revealing that it contains the secret messaging: ‘That’s what they don’t see,’ which some believe might be the title of the singer’s next single.

Additional clues suggest Swift will appear on Good Morning America on Aug. 31, while others allude to a possible comeback appearance during the MTV VMAs on Aug. 28. The singer herself has been mum.

Until now.

On Monday (Aug. 21), Swift shared a cryptic 10-second video on her socials that shows what some believe is a magnified snake’s tail. If so, is she alluding to her beef with Kim Kardashian? Or is it a nod to the eclipse? Perhaps it’s a Game of Thrones reference? It’s not clear.

The pop-country singer’s last album 1989 was released on Oct. 27, 2014. On Aug. 18 of that year, she premiered “Shake It Off” and announced the upcoming release of her first pop album, 1989. Is it a coincidence Swift went black on Aug. 18, 2017? Probably not.

Swift’s forthcoming new album, whenever she shares it, will be here sixth studio release.
