Friends, family, and fellow students of an 8th grade Corpus Christi boy are mourning his death following an incident at a middle school football game. 

Cameron Espinoza who plays for the Warriors of Haas Middle School in Corpus Christi had joined his teammates in warm up exercises just before the start of the 3rd quarter of a game on Wednesday, September 11th.  During those exercises, Espinoza was stung numerous times by fire ants.  The boy lost consciousness and was rushed to a local hospital.  He died this past Monday.

According to reports, the boy was not aware that he was allergic to fire ant bites and the school had no record of allerigeis for Espinoza.
