The State of Texas Celebrates Georgia This Day in Country Music – June 10th (Video)

2009 - Alan Jackson gives a free concert at Nashville's Cadillac Ranch to celebrate two decades since signing his first recording dea. He plays 34 of his Top 10 hits, including "Wanted," "Little Bitty," "There Goes" and "Chattahoochee".

2005 - "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood makes her Grand Ole Opry debut, singing the Roy Orbison classic "Crying".

2004 - Terri Clark's "Girls Lie Too" video debuts on CMT, with director Shawn Silva looking so much like Johnny Depp's "Pirates Of The Caribbean" character that many viewers think it's actually Depp.

1997 - Harlan Howard is added to the National Songwriters Hall of Fame at the Sheraton New York Hotel, along with Phil Spector  and Joni Mitchell. Howard wrote "Busted" and "I Fall To Pieces," among many others.

1989 - Clint Black's debut single, "A Better Man," reaches #1 on the Billboard country chart.

1988 - Ricky Van Shelton joins the Grand Ole Opry, performing "Somebody Lied".

1985 - Barbara Mandrell gives her first post-accident performance on The Music City News awards show. The Statler Brothers win six awards on the evening, including Entertainer of the Year.

1979 - Lee Brice born in Sumter, South Carolina. Established as an artist with the 2009 release "Love Like Crazy," he also writes Tim McGraw's "Still" and Garth Brooks' "More Than A Memory".
