We're only into the second week of high school football across the Pineywoods and we've already had a number of great games.  Tonight, should be no exception.

There are quite a few marquee match ups happening across East Texas.

Nacogdoches Dragons at Hallsville Bobcats

Last week, the Dragons and Bobcats defeated last year's Class 3A state runner up and state champions, respectively.  Hallsville was impressive throughout the entire game as they dismantled Carthage 52-20. Nacogdoches was very impressive in the first half as they built a 24-6 lead over Kilgore, however, the Dragons had to get a last second field goal to secure the victory 27-25.  These are two good football teams and if they both play up to their standards for 4 quarters, this could be one heck of a barn-burner. Listen to the game tonight beginning with the pregame show at 7:15 on Q107.  Danny Merrell has the play by play.

Tyler Lee Red Raiders at Lufkin Panthers

Going back to last season, Tyler Lee has only tasted victory once in their last 7 games, that includes an opening week loss last Saturday to Fossil Ridge, 48-26.  Lufkin turned a whole lot of heads with their dominance of one of the top teams in Class 5A.  The Panthers trounced Longview 44-14.  All things point towards a resounding win for the Pack at home tonight, but the Red Raiders will enter the stadium with some swagger after defeating Lufkin last year 42-30. Listen to the game tonight beginning with the pregame show at 7 on KICKS 105.  The Big Nasty, Gary Ivins, has the play by play.

Garrison Bulldogs at Shelbyville Dragons

Last week, Garrison squeaked by San Augustine in a battle of two powerhouses, 18-14.  Meanwhile, Shelbyville handled Linden-Kildare on the road 28-12.  Garrison is rich in tradition of producing great football teams while the Dragons are one of the most improved teams in East Texas over the past few years.  The Bulldogs look to have the edge on paper, but it will tough for Garrison to leave Shelbyville with a victory.
