This Day In Country Music History – April 13th
On this day in 2010, George Strait reached an historic Billboard chart milestone, garnering another top 10 on Billboard's Country Songs chart in an unprecedented 30th consecutive year. "I Gotta Get To You" was his 82nd top 10 hit.
Today in 2000, George Jones added another gold award to his wall when his album Cold Hard Truth was certified for selling 500,000 copies.
Happy birthday today to Loretta Lynn ... Elected to the country music hall of fame in 1988, Loretta blows out 79 candles today.
And on this day in 1976, Tammy Wynette's "Til I Can Make It On My Own" sat at the top of the chart… the song has been remade over the years by Faith Hill, Martina Mcbride and Wynonna.
