This Day In Country Music History – April 28th

On this day in 2010, Chris Young was named to the “Stars For Stripes” board of directors for a one-year term… last week Chris wrapped up his second tour performing for the troops in Iraq.

Today in 2004, Randy Travis picked up two trophies at the annual Dove Awards, one for “Country Album Of The Year” for Worship And Faith and the second for “Country Song Of The Year” for “Three Wooden Crosses”.

“Mama He’s Crazy” from The Judds entered the chart today in 1984… Eventually, the song would become The Judds first #1.

And on this day in 1973, Charlie Rich was at the top of the charts with “Behind Closed Doors”.
